So I am getting ready to move back up to Raleigh for grad school and am looking for a bedroom set. I don't mind used furniture (but not mattress), so I have been looking on Craigslist for a few days. In looking, I keep running across these ads for super-cheap queen size mattresses supposedly made by Serta in NC, selling for $125 a set. Is there any way this could be legitimate? I was going to pick up a memory foam mattress at Sam's, but this may be worth considering if anybody has any positive experience with it.

Do tell.

So in this case are they really Serta Pillowtop mattresses as he claims? I have heard of things where they have a warehouse and the mattresses for the advertised price are really sh*tty but they have some decent ones for higher prices. This does not seem like one of those situations though. What's the deal with this guy?

In the end you usually get what you pay for.

Don't expect to get a $500 mattress set for $150.

Just go check them out and see how decent they are and report back

When I went to one of those things the mattresses were super shitty and they were really pushy trying to get you to buy one of their more expensive mattresses on the spot. They also only let you try them out for 15 minutes then shoved you out the door and moved on to the next person. They are afraid you'll figure out how shitty the mattresses are if you spend more than a minute or two on them. They might be "serta" but they are so low quality most reputable stores wouldn't stock them.

^ That's what I have heard about the places with a warehouse full of these things, but I am wondering if this is the same deal or something different.

Bump to see if anyone has experience with this guy. Same phone number and offer being posted currently. He also advertises in the classifieds of the Technician. Anybody with a first hand look at these mattresses? I need to make a purchase soon.

why do all the ads say that number is his mobile number when its a landline

probably a landline that forwards to his real cellphone number to avoid any possible followups due to dissatisfaction

Perhaps I should contact the Serta factory outlet to see what they think.

just go check it out. damn. is it that difficult? these probably aren't serta; just some cheap chinese crap with a serta label. Either go and pay $150 for some shitty stuff; or go drop $500+ for decent or better stuff. Also, don't get raped.

also, blackjesus is a troll, so don't believe anything he says.
