WTF is with the ice lolly

"Yo, you seem hot, have an ice cream"...?

Of course, the other possibility is that he had in his hand all along, and it didn't melt with the fire

I am surprised that after that fire, he hasn't passed out, he isn't writhing and screaming in pain, he seems composed, he seems mentally and physically capable of holding an ice lolly.

Anyway, the really shocking and surreal thing for me is the first pic. I have seen many pics of people on fire who have immolated themselves, but they have usually been from some distance and not very clear. In this one you can see his upper body very clearly, including his facial features.

To me, if someone sets themselves on fire, or otherwise kills themselves in protest, I have little sympathy.

It's like a more extreme version of suburban emo kids cutting themselves.

It is a seriously crazy act to do. And if you survive, you will have years of pain, surgeries, and a messed up appearance.

I can't even understand after looking at pic one how he could just sit there. How come he didn't pass out from the pain?

More importantly, did he think about his family, how they would suffer? And even more importantly, who pays to treat them if they survive. I guess that depends on the country and health care system and laws. So now he will be a burden on the state and his family costing tens of thousands of dollars.

I guess if a person immolates themselves, the public should let them die, as that's what the person wants, and overall it is better like that for everybody involved.
