I am in China and I need to read some help pages on the Microsoft website but they keep switching to Chinese on me with no button to put them in the language of our lord Jesus Christ.

How do I stop it from redirecting to fucking Chinese? No, there isn't a little .cn up in the address bar i can erase.

btw, what I need help with is a problem with MSI. microsoft installer. it died when I did the windows updates recently. now i cant install anything.

running windows7

try changing your dns to something in the US

8.8.8.8

or 4.2.2.2

[Edited on July 25, 2012 at 5:41 PM. Reason : or use chrome and translate the pages.]

can you explain the dns thing? also I'm using a Chinese version of Windows7 (puter bought in China and I'm too lazy to reinstall Windows) so it's hard for me to navigate. My Chinese sucks because I live in Shanghai where most people worth talking to speak English.

maybe you can just copy and paste relevant text into freetranslation.com or babelfish.com or microsofttranslator.com

1. Buy the Ultimate upgrade.
2. Install the English language pack.
3. Switch your default language to English.

Also, if you want to use some excellent US-based DNS servers, try Comodo Secure DNS: 8.26.56.26 and 8.20.247.20
GraniteBalls recommended Google Public DNS, but he got the secondary servers wrong: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

In either case, use this advice to change it on your computer: http://www.comodo.com/secure-dns/switch/windows_vista.html
If you can change the settings on your router, use this advice: http://www.comodo.com/secure-dns/switch/router.html

You want it in the language of your lord, Jesus Christ? Not sure they have help pages in Aramaic.

^^^maybe you'll find that out after changing your language; additionally, you could try browsing Microsoft's help pages via Anonymouse English, or you could use a VPN...
