I was a CIP there for four years as a teenager. I actually bounced back and forth between the 2 capitol blvd locations and the north hill location and my base location was crossroads freshman year at state.

Some days the girls were really stuck up but I liked it and yielded consistently 2 confirmed numbers per week.

Sister-in-law's boyfriend worked there, they offered him a promotion which included paying for a degree at Wake Tech relevant to the position. He quit without considering his future it. Now he is in landscaping doing 'hands-on' work.

So it's a great place to work and can yield many new opportunities.

I worked there for a couple months. It sucked. All the people were stupid and expected me to be stupid like them. I worked in electronics and was the only one who knew anything about electronics in the department. Never again.

I worked there for about 3 months in 2010. I already had a 40 hour/week job, but thought i could handle 2-3 nights there each week. it was 3rd shift, 10pm-6am. Me and someone else usually unloaded the truck, which sucked bigtime, then they assigned us a section and you just stocked shelves all night. "Lunch" was 3-3:30am.

At first I had like 3 nights a week, then they started scheduling me for like 5. They literally almost always called me on my nights off asking if I wanted to come in. They seemed to have no problem paying over-time. I ended up quitting because I was working like 100 hours/week between the two jobs and was about to lose my mind. I decided to quit after about four consecutive days without sleep. I was walking to my car and basically blinked and almost fell down I was so tired.

So basically I hated it. I worked at the one in cary. there were about 25 people stocking each night, and I bet 20 of them were morrocan, so they spoke french constantly and were kinda dick-ish. I don't think its a terrible company to work for, I just definitely wouldn't do 3rd shift, its miserable. I hate the feeling of being tired ALL the time.

I despised working at Target. I worked in Softlines during high school and they always kept me past when my shift was supposed to end. And they'd lock the staff doors so we've have to contact the supervisor to come unlock it when we needed to exit. They tried to argue that I couldn't get off work for graduation. Also, I was the fastest team member because I was the only one not too fat to move quickly down the aisles.

Great job.

worked there in high school. like everyone else has said, it was miserable. worst job i've ever had & the only one i've ever quit. i think i was the only person in the whole store who actually put reshop back while the store was open, so i'd be done by closing but had to stay bc nobody else had done jack shit the whole day. we'd be there til 1am a lot of times. terrible management, terrible employees.

RUN. FAST.

^ I forgot about that. The doors were always locked and it seemed like no manager was ever around to let you out. I remember often times having to walk around the store for 10 minutes trying to find one of them so they could walk up to the front with me and let me out.

And yes, they pretty much always wanted me to stay late. Even thought I was supposed to be off at 6am, it was usually closer to 7am because it was humanly impossible to stock everything as fast as they wanted. When they assigned you a section at the beginning of the night, they'd also give you a goal time to be done, like 4 or 5am. But it was never even close to being a realistic goal. Once you were past that time, they'd walk by me every 20 minutes and say something like, "Auburn, please hurry. we need you to hurry, you should have been done already." I consider myself fast and efficient, but we would have needed like three people in one section to hit the goal times.

One of the other main things that made me quit was the managers not being very respectful. Only one out of the 4-5 managers was nice, the others just wanted to look out for their own asses. I remember talking to one of them about an idea I had to speed something up and the other manager just walks up and starts talking like I wasn't even there. Just blatantly interupts and starts talking over me until I stop. Thats usually the final straw, if my boss has zero respect for me then the place can fuck off.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it wasn't technically locked, but a ridiculous alarm would go off if you opened it without keying in a code. I remember one person almost getting fired for just busting out.

This fuckhead manager at best buy used to take like 20 minutes to come let you in in the morning, then would blast you for clocking in late like week later when he would print the time sheets.

Last time I saw his bitch ass he was working at Panera bread, but I don't think he was a manger. Best Buy fired him because he was such a dick that a 100+ person staff just started ignoring him and basically had a mutiny.

Ours was locked with a key and a keycode. In case of fire, the doors would open, but the alarms would sound in the whole store. And you can't go out the front doors. Those are locked after hours, obviously.

Me too! Did the week-long orientation, worked a week, then put in my 2-week notice.

I was in the stock room. It sucked. I did make sure to buy a microwave with my discount before leaving, though.

I use to be a Target bell boy... its a pretty savvy job other than the fact we worked out of the alleyway behind the Target.

I hope this answered all your questions and GOOD LUCK!

Target is a much better place to work if you aren't a shithead little teenage kid.
Of course like anywhere the store can suck to work at if the managers are raging dickheads. I worked out out four stores in the area and only one of them had awful management.

I worked there for the better part of 4 years. Wasn't a bad experience overall.

Tried to work there between high school and college. Needed money to pay for college, and the assholes said they'd give me full time hours and then scheduled me for 13 hours a week! I gave notice and then they scheduled me for 29 hours the week after I was going to quit, but I didn't take their bait.
