The thread isn't about the school itself. It is more for the women who majored in and/or have a career in the fields of science and math.

<--------

went to NCSSM, my science degree is chemical engineering

though I suppose my current title involves the word "scientist" rather than "engineer"

Not saying this is anyone on TWW, but I used to laugh at this handful of girls that were in ECE, and thought they were the awesome shit, because the nerds would pay them non-stop attention.

In 7th grade I decided that this is what I wanted to do. I wrote a 5 page paper on Pasteur he got me excited about discovery and "detective work".

I wanted to become a forensic pathologist at first. Got my first introduction to biomedical research as a junior in HS, and I stuck with this and decided medical school was just TOOOOOOO long.

Working on targeted therapy for breast cancer at university currently.

I didn't know that. That's pretty cool.

Oh, and Sam, Duke is offering some free Genetics courses as part of their free online program they're starting. My first thought was "awesome, now I can kind of follow what Sam's talking about on TWW if I take this course!!"
