Ingerson had been a teacher in the Ferguson-Florissant district from 1987 through 2010, mostly at McCluer, where he taught science and coached the baseball team. But why come forward after all these years and admit to crimes no one had reported? 'I think there are a number of factors at play here not the least of which is he believed the statute of limitations had already run out. It hadn`t,' said prosecutor Bob McCulloch. 'I`ve been doing this a long time, and this is the first time we`ve had someone contact us and say I want to talk about what I did years ago and then come in and do it.' Authorities have contacted the victims, the first who was under 16 at the time, and the second, who was under 17. Both women are willing to cooperate with the investigation. It is believed Ingerson taught in several districts in the St. Louis area since the 1960s, and investigators have alerted them as well. Ingerson is charged in the first case with rape, and the second with statutory sodomy. He is being held in St. Louis County jail on a $300,000 cash bond. Although Ingerson admits only to these two cases, authorities say there could be more and encourage any other victims to come forward. Detectives have been able to identify two victims and are asking that if anyone believes they may have been a victim of a sexual crime by Donald Ingerson or anyone else to call 314-889-2341."
