I've done a bit of reading up on this, and there's a lot of conflicting information. Perhaps someone here has some experience with balancing together two separate internet pipes in a residential situation? Hardware, software, scripts, etc. Right now it's looking like an old WRT54GL running DD-WRT with certain modifications is the best bet.
Background: I currently have U-Verse internet and TV. My new housemate works for Time Warner and gets FREE cable and internet. For TV I'm perfectly happy ditching AT&T in favor of free Time Warner . . . . I don't watch all that much aside from a few shows, and we'd get all the premium channels for free HD included. That's a nice money saver. For internet however U-Verse is the superior product in every way . . . nearly twice as fast. So I'm keeping that.
But we still get free Roadrunner internet. I figure no reason for it to go to waste, so perhaps I can set up balancing and use both at once. Hence the issue. Anybody dealt with something like this before? Any tips or tricks? 8/3/2012 3:52:57 AM |
