I was completely wrong to use the term "legitimate" and "rape" in the same sentence. There is no rape that is legitimate. What I said was ill-conceived, wrong and it hurt people. For that I apologize. I was also wrong when I said women's bodies have a way to stave off pregnancy in the event of "legitimate rape." I was misinformed, and I recognize that. However, I do not apologize for my belief in being pro-life and the protection of the unborn.

which directly implies that there are 'rapes' that are non-legitimate and you can determine this by whether she got pregnant or not.

it's not just about the 'legitimate' descriptor by itself.

yeah, that's the more reasonable reason to be offended...his contention that many so-called "rapes" are actually not rapes at all, and that a woman's biological system will protect her to some degree if she IS raped.

I just find it that ^^^^ seems to be his go-to apology to people who are pissed about this
