its one of those games where you have a home base that you use to build new buildings to make yourself stronger and you fight other people and do missions

also one of those games that makes you wait while stuff upgrades or builds, but imo that makes it worth playing for more than 5 minutes like some apps

also for every ally you have, you get to deploy 4 more units into battle

and spend most of your upgrade points each level on Energy

few more tips:

- try to get money and buy units (infantry, ground, air, sea) before you level up too much
- a bunch of cheap units will increase your attack and defense early on, but you can only take so many units into battle (# of allies x 4, max of 20 units per level), so strong units pay off since you'll eventually have more units than you can take into battle and it will only take the strongest ones
- and most importantly, dont attack someone from the list...raid them, which takes you to their base, look at their profile (attack and defense numbers) and dont attack them unless your attack is more than their defense...you can still lose if you're not a lot stronger
- store money in the vault so you dont lose it when you attack and lose or are attacked and lose
- you can visit your allies' base to get a free $1000, think it resets every 24 hours
- and of course add other people so you can take other units into battle

you get minimal gold as you level up...but other than that, thats the app developer's way of giving you the option to spend money on the app...i haven't spent a dime...even though those indestructible units are gangster in battle

once you get to 10 gold though, you can go to Add Allies and make yourself a VIP for 2 hours and get a shitload of ally requests...great way to increase your allies...also you can add VIP allies, but only 2 every 8 hours...but its something you should do when available

also

you can only build one building at a time, only upgrade one building at a time, and only do one unit of base expansion at a time...but if you can afford it, you should have a building being built, a building being upgraded, and a unit of map expansion happening all the time

windmills bring in money every few hours

you can build 2 each of every money building i think

the munitions stockpiles (piles of shit inside concrete walls) bring in the most money early on though

i've got a level 4 and a level 5...level 5 brings me 96,000 every 24 hours

those are also good buildings to raid...you only get a fraction of what the owner gets, but yeah

i spent like 20 minutes earlier rearranging my buildings to maximize space the most efficiently so i didnt have a bunch of slivers of open space that were too small to build stuff

I play two click and wait strategy games, Simpsons: tapped out on the ipad and Tiny Tower on the iPhone. Those already take up too much of my time.

i hate those pay-to-*really*-play smartphone games. After the 'get em hooked' period where it's really fun gameplay for maybe 30 minutes to an hour, you'll inevitable run out of 'gold', 'energy', or whatever other bullshit limiter and you'll be lucky to get 5 mins of game every few days without forking over like $10 a week on what is ultimately just a time sink
