I fixed it.

I appreciate the input.

For those who might be struggling with the same problem, you've got to knock a few things down on your computer since these things aren't made to seriously multitask. It doesn't even process the stuff as fast as the rest of the computer can do things (processor is slower than the hard drive... seriously...)

I have an Acer Aspire One with C 60 dual processor and an AMD 4 GB DDR3 RAM. This is the part where you find out it's all about the processor and how well it can do a lot of things. Well it can do one thing pretty good, but it does two things as once pretty bad.

Pull up itunes, go to edit -> preferences -> playback and change preferred video version from "1080p" to "Standard definition." Chances are that your netbook is about 10 to 11 inches, and you don't need full HD to be entertained. You can push it to 720p if you want to try but I don't know if that will work for you. standard definition definitely will work well though.

Don't play itunes while it's busy doing anything other than what you intend it. So don't watch movies as they are downloading. Wait for them to come in first and then start playing.

While playing movies in itunes, turn your wireless off. The constant send/recieve is creating tasks for your computer that is going to cause delay.

If the content is not DRM protected, use another player like VLC. Itunes is a memory hog and can really kill the netbook. VLC is perfect and will just make sure the a/v is synced for your viewing pleasure.

Bigman157 would have you buy an entire new system, but making what you have work for you is worthwhile in my opinion...
