Just stop plugins from auto-launching; there are many ways to do it (if you're using IE then I feel bad for you, son).

Chrome: Activate click-to-play
Firefox: Use NoScript in that mode that blocks plugins even when the site is whitelisted: http://noscript.net/faq#qa1_12
Opera: Use the Allblock UserScript: http://jansal.net/opera/salr/allblock.js
Safari: Use Plugin Customs

Go to Settings>Advanced Settings>Content Settings and under "Plugins" should be a "Click-to-play" option.
