Whether you've doled it out or been on the receiving end, share your stories here. I'll start...

I was turning left from 440 onto Glenwood during rush hour. The guy in the lane to the left of me was doing the same. Apparently, during the turn, he wanted me to let him over into my designated lane. By the time I realized that's what he wanted, it was too late, and there was no room in front of me to let him in.

My window was down, and his right window was down. He let me have it: YOU STUPID FUCKING CUNT! YOU FUCKING BITCH!! ARE YOU FUCKING STUPID OR WHAT?!? FUCK YOU, YOU FUCKING CUNT! CAN'T YOU FUCKING SEE ME?!?!? WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?! YOU FUCKING STUPID FUCKING BITCH!

Traffic wasn't moving, and he went on like that for some time. I did apologize and tell him that I didn't realize he wanted to get in front of me, but it was no use.

Okay, now somebody else share.

this bitch today didn't know what a flashing yellow left turn signal meant, so she just wouldn't fucking turn even though NO ONE WAS COMING. Seriously, for like 5 minutes I sat at this intersection b/c of this whore. So I just started screaming out my window for her to fucking turn already and did she hear me? NO BECAUSE THIS FUCKING CUNT WAS ON HER FUCKING PHONE NOT EVEN PAYING ATTENTION TO SHIT.

I hate everyone when I am driving.

I was cut off this morning and almost dumped my bike, but no rage. I've gotten so used to people almost killing me that it's just expected, doesn't get me riled up anymore. And in my truck I pretty much just do what I want if someone's being an asshole, most people won't fuck with a dually

I've noticed my blood pressure dropping on the road in the last couple years

It's been so long, I don't remember the details: My friend and I were driving up Dan Allen towards Hillsborough. We came to a stop at the Hillsborough light to turn left. We somehow pissed off a dude, i don't remember if he was in front of us or behind us, but he was turning right at the light. As we were sitting beside each other at the light He started bitching at us out the window. My friend inthe passenger seat acted all cool and calm as the dude screamed at us. When the light turned green, my friend chunked the full cup that he was holding at the maniac, hitting him right in the face. We then turned left, and the dude didn't follow.

^^^ that is awesome

I put a dent in the door of a woman's lexus last year at the same intersection as the OP. I was in the right-hand left turn lane and she was in the left (on her phone); she decided not to stay in her lane halfway through the intersection and drifted into mine. I kicked her door as hard as I could with my boot; got me a little squirrelly but it was worth it. She looked at me with a wide-eyed OH SHIT face, probably changed to anger when she got home. I hope she could read the Rockport logo from my heel...

my wreck last year was caused by a woman on her phone at the lead mine/glenwood intersection cutting into my lane. 8am rush hour traffic, I had nowhere to go...locked up my wheels and went down. She kept on going, probably had no idea what she caused. It's a terrifying thing to dump a 800lb block of rotating metal on top of yourself with 3000lb blocks of metal speeding all around you. $2k damage to my bike, road rash, broken ribs and a bulging disc in my lower back because some girl couldn't wait till she got to work to tell her boyfriend to put the crockpot on low

nope, not a soul. Everyone just looked pissed off because the guy bleeding on the asphault was gonna make them late to work. One guy a couple cars back at a red on the other side of the intersection stepped out of his car and yelled "HEY MAN ARE YOU OKAY??!?" but that was about it. Then again, I stood right up to check to make sure I had all my limbs, walked over to my bike and somehow stood it up and pushed it off the road...the whole deal couldn't have taken longer than 30 seconds. After grabbing pieces of my bike off the road I gave it a once-over, started it back up and rode to my destination

wasn't till I was a few miles down the road that it all settled in and the pain hit

edit* by "everyone" i mean the lady behind me--also on her phone--that was inconvenienced as she had to wait for me to get up and push my bike out of the road because there was too much traffic for her to go around

Fuck yeah. I wear nothin' but Rockports.

Represent

I've see more idiots now that I ride a motorcycle than when I was in my car. It's like people are "meh" when you are in car, but if you are on a motorcycle they really don't give a rats ass about you.

Case in point, if the right turn lane is wider than normal, there is about a 10% chance that a car will come up beside me while I try to make a right on red, to make the same right on red. It's like i'm not even there. I had that happen to me twice just today alone! I've had them pull up on my right side and left side. WTF. Just because my transportation is smaller doesn't mean you can squeeze in beside me like it's no big thing. Fuck off.

Unfortunately, a 525lb motorcycle cannot win against any 4 wheeled counterpart, nor would I ever attempt it. One day, I'm going to use red loctite with universal wheel locks on someone's car and toss the keys to the wheel locks at an undisclosed location miles away. Bonus points if their tires are already on the wear bars...

This is my number 1 most feared driver mistake. I have been a passenger on at least 3 occasions when the driver obliviously did this. Sooooo scary

I was coming off the HOV merge on 95S near Quantico on a Friday afternoon on Memorial Day weekend when I did something I immediately regretted, but it makes for a cool story.

At the time, I was doing executive protection work for a company up in Falls Church, and the hours were long, but I got a sweet "men in black" suit for my troubles. Anyways, I hated sitting in traffic, so on Fridays, after the CEO of the company I was assigned to went home, I'd hit the road early and take the HOV as far south as I could to avoid the NoVa nightmare. This particular day, as I was merging into traffic, things were in a standstill. Cars EVERYWHERE. I tried my hardest to get over, but this wood paneled station wagon would not let me in. Finally, it cleared enough that I could accelerate some, but this asshole accelerates too. At this point, I was running out of road.

Then, I ran out of road.

So I took the exit ramp all the way to the grass, and now I'm still trying to get over, and this worthless fuck in his wood paneled wagon speeds up when i speed up, and slows down when i slow down. Finally I gun it and get in front of him. We're in the left lane. We come to another stop, I look in my rear view, and the bastard flicks me off.

So I did what any normal, sane person would do. I got out of my car in the middle of 95 rush hour traffic.

Then I reached into my jacket as if I were armed (I never brought my weapon home from work though), and told the guy to leave me the fuck alone, in so many words. His fat, troll-like wife in the passenger seat tried her best to take cover, but she couldn't fit in the floorboard. The driver, who looked sorta like a fatter version of the Dude, but way more redneck, hits the gas, drives on the shoulder and guns it. I look over to the car in the middle lane, and it's a guy that's very... poindexter-ish. And he's freaked out. So I open my jacket, showing him that nothing is there, smile, and get back in my car.

Then I had the best cigarette in my life, realizing that, had the redneck, his gammorrean guard wife, poindexter, or any of the others witnessing this scene had a firearm and panicked, they could have gunned me down right there. I was afraid one of them may have called the cops, so I got off at the Triangle exit and took Route 1 home.

Anyways, that's all I really have to say about that.

TL;DR: I got out of my car and faked like I had a gun, and was lucky I didn't get shot.

Probably 8 or 9 years ago now...several friends and I were in Ohio, on our way to visit another friend. While trying to merge from two lanes down to one on an on-ramp, some old guy in a beat-up late 70's Lincoln gets a little close and nearly merges into us, at which point our driver (not me) sticks his head out the window and yells at him "BACK THE FUCK OFF, OLD MAN!!"

This was not a good idea. Once we got onto the highway, the old man in question first proceeds to tailgate the hell out of us for a few miles, then flies around us, gets in front, and slows down to like 40 MPH. When we tried to go around him, he'd swerve abruptly to block us from passing. This also continued for a few miles, at the end of which we see him lean down to hunt around in the floorboard for something, we have no idea what. Then, abruptly, he floors it and leaves us behind.

But we were not done with him yet. Up the road a mile or two, around a curve, we see that the dude has pulled off to the side of the road and gotten out of his car, and when he sees us approaching he walks out into the damn road (mind you this is a multilane highway with a 55 speed limit) and proceeds to *stand in our lane* to try to make us stop. He his holding some sort of object, not a gun, but looks like maybe a length of pipe or a crowbar. Our driver swerves around him, at which point he throws whatever he is holding at our car (and misses). We leave him standing in a travel lane, his back to traffic, shaking his fist and yelling at us.

The best part was that he had a Jesus sign hanging from his rearview mirror.

Someone else in our group drove for the rest of the trip.

I was driving home from work today at around 4pm. It's 95 degrees here and humid as hell. My car needs to have the AC recharged. I never really use the AC to begin with, but on days like today I need to use it. It only blowed hot air. I went to roll my window down but the ****ing thing fell off the track. My car isn't a POS, but it's an EK Civic so that's a very common issue as anyone who has ever owned one knows. I drive my vehicle 50-80 miles per day for work, so by the end of my shift I was a sweaty mess. I was driving down the road with my hand out the sunroof and the 95 degree outside air felt cool, so I can only estimate it was maybe 110 or so inside my car. I had really bad swamp ass, and I was starting to feel dehydrated. I started my 20 mile commute home and found out that some idiot stalled their car in the middle lane, so people were forced to merge. Shouldn't be that hard, but drivers now days are retarded. I was driving along in the right lane and some guy in a pickup went speeding by. He got to the stalled car and flipped on his right blinker, waiting for someone to let him by. No one would let him in, and he kept edging closer and closer until he was nearly in the right lane. When I was about to pass him he just floored it and cut me off. He must have missed hitting me by an inch at most. I was really furious at this point, laying on the horn and letting him know how I felt about it. Traffic started picking up and I went to merge over into the right lane. The guy cut me off again, so I floored it and tried to get back over into the middle lane to pass him. Same thing, this time he nearly sideswiped me. At this point I am furious, so I pulled to the right lane and he again tried to block me. I pulled over because I was about to explode. The guy ended up pulling over about 200 yards up on the same shoulder as I was on. He got out of his car and started walking back towards my car. I saw he was holding something in his hand. As he got closer I could see it was a hammer. He was driving a construction company vehicle, so he must have had it in a tool box in the cab with him. I like to avoid confrontation at all times if I can. Going to jail is not something I feel like doing at this point in my life. I am waiting for a chance to merge in, but people are flying past me at close to 70mph, so I need a big gap to get in there. This guy is a few hundred feet away from me and is screaming some kind of jibberish at me, something like "oooohm ooohm laka laka" and it's obvious he is furious. When he was about 100 feet away he started to jog towards me. I had about 5 seconds to merge, and finally I had my chance. I floored it and ended up almost getting rear ended by someone in a mini van. They proceeded to drive past me and flip me off. I didn't care at that point since I was out of harms way. I keep thinking what I would have done if I didn't have a chance to merge in. I would consider a hammer in the hands of a deranged man to be a deadly weapon. I just thank God I didn't have open the door get on the floor everybody walk the dinosaur. People now days are nuts.

not having to deal with other raging drivers is one of the things I like most about driving a truck. People are a hell of a lot less likely to pull out in front of you or brake check you when you're driving a fullsize truck as opposed to a compact car, probably because they realize they won't make out too well if I actually hit them. Other drivers also don't seem to get nearly as cocky around people driving vehicles that sit up higher. I used to have people pull up beside me in my compact car after doing something assinine and start threatening me, get a good look at me, realize I wasn't the 120lb ricer they assumed I was, and then speed off before finishing their sentence. The most I might get when driving a fullsize truck is an evil glance.

My favorite road rage moment was when I was working un in Newark a few years back. I was going to a job site that was up on the curb beside a busy road, and the traffic there was jammed up. When I got to the job site, I hopped the curb and parked on the sidewalk. A woman in her seventies driving a Cadillac hopped the curb behind me, then went to blaring her horn at me and yelling at me for "blocking up the shortcut". My coworker told her that we were parked at a job site, to which she replied "Piss Off Asshole" and turned right back into traffic and forced the cars already in the road to slam on the brakes.

I'd rather have idiot cagers swear and flick me off than being face paint on some douchebag's SUV talking on their cell who didn't see me, even when I'm not even in their blind spot.

I find quite a few people who drive trucks think their large truck/SUVs gives them the right to the road.

Me, I don't fucking care. Be a dick to me, I do it right back. Like once, in Pinehurst after HS let out, I was waiting in line at the traffic circle. I, like most people, wait my turn to go. But some people think they can skip half a mile of cars and go straight to the front and cut in. This one asshat in a Chevy Tahoe/Suburban thought his big SUV meant he had special rights to get in the front of the line. Specifically, in front of me. At the time, I drove a minivan (95 Windstar). As he started pulling into my lane with my car there, I just laid on the horn and stayed right beside him. As far as I cared, he was either going to hit me, or get in front of someone else. The pussy behind me ended up letting him in.

Then, there was this time I was going back to State from SC on 85. I was around the area where 52 leaves 85. It was at night, and I was going about 75 MPH in the lane second from the left. The people in the left were going about 80 MPH. I was coming up on this car in front of me going about 72 MPH so I checked my mirrors/blindspots and saw this car pretty far behind me, I start to come in, and he approached me as if he was going 90 MPH. He didn't like that so he flashed his high beams, at which point I decided I wasn't going to speed up to 80 MPH. My general feeling is 90 MPH or however the fuck fast he was going was outright dangerous and stupid and pretty typical of most douche bag BMW drivers. So I passed the guy in front of me and I got back in my previous lane. As he went by, I gave him the finger (as is customary for me to do to some dickhead who drives like a dickhead). He did not like it so he got in front of me and tried brake checking me. When he hit his brakes I ducked into the lane to the right and passed him right back (I already anticipated what he would do and had chosen a free spot). He did not like that I outsmarted me, so he tried getting up alongside of me to act all tuff. By that time I got off at 85 and he took 52. I was laughing at his douchiness and he was all mad.

But yeah, I commonly give people the finger who drive like douches. My biggest pet peeve is when I go to pass someone when they're going like 45 MPH in a 55 MPH, by the time I get done passing them I'm going 70 MPH and they're right on my bumper keeping up... That will usually earn the finger. If someone passes me, I let them go. I keep the same speed I was going because I don't take it as a personal insult if someone wants to pass me...

I was going up I 65 from Birmingham to Nashville this time, and as some of you know, its just a long boring 2 lane interstate most of the way

so im going about 85 in the 70, and i come up to this long line of slow cars in the right lane, i start passing them while never turning off cruise control, but this mustang comes up behind me, and starts flashing his lights and blowing his horn

there are hardly any gaps in this line of slow cars, and none are that big, and this douche expects me to cut someone off to let him pass, he even tries to get over during the little gaps but they are far too small

so he proceeds to flip me off and i can see him screaming in the rear view, he decides he is better off getting an inch behind me and i slam on the brakes, as soon as he recovers, he is right back on me, so this time i slow down even more, and i see him going batshit in his car in the mirror

i get to the front of the slow pack, and just pace the lead car, i get on the CB with the truckers and as soon as they tell me there is a "bear" up ahead, i pull over and let him pass, he just floors it and goes, no flip off, nothing

sure enough i see him pulled over a few miles down, i slow down and blow him a kiss

i see the most road rage directed at people who don't/won't turn right on red (no sign)

i'm at the hwy 55 and kit creek intersection, red light time. some lady is chilling at the right turn onto kit creek. i have my windows down and i hear yelling/moaning. i look over and some dude in a saab is behind her "gooooo! go! come onnnnn!" but he was saying it like indiana jones "we are going to die " kinda angry, sad, pleading.

i'm at the i-40 and nc 751 on-ramp, left turn time. some lady is chilling at the right turn onto 751. i have my windows down and i hear shouting. i look over and some dude in a jeep cherokee is behind her "what the fuck?! go dammit!" but he's saying it like vince vaughn "let's make it official"

It's been so long that I've forgotten the details of the 440 beltline and 40...but it went something like this...

I was merging onto 440 from 40 somewhere around Wade Ave (I THINK that's how it went)...and as I was getting on I see this car about 100 yds in my rearview that is FLYING. In college I still had a leadfoot so I was going about 75/80...so this guy was definitely creeping up on 100.

He was still a bit behind me, so I get into the left lane (we're still at two lanes here...so we haven't reached the 3/4 lane part of 440 yet) to pass this really slow car in front of me. Turns out it's a row of about 5 cars, so it takes a few moments to get by them. I'm still going around 80 though, but this guy catches up to me and rides my ass BIG TIME until I pass the 5 cars and get into the right lane. As he's passing me, he flips me the bird.

I'm still young, immature, and a little pissed off at this point, but I'm not going to go 100+ to catch this fucker and exact my middle-finger-revenge. Luckily I didn't have to do that. Just ahead of me this guy gets stuck in the left lane behind some close cars and he's riding their ass as well. I end up passing him in the "slow" lane and am able to get in front of him in the left lane. Now I've got him boxed in in the left lane beside a line of slow cars in the right lane. I keep him here for the next couple of miles and he is FUCKING LIVID. I can see him making all kinds of obscene gestures in my rearview....he's flipping his shit...throwing stuff around in the car, swerving back and forth in his lane, continuing to ride my ass...etc. I pump my brakes a few times, he has to swerve to the shoulder a little bit...it was fun.

We finally get to where it's 3/4 lanes and he is able to get around me. He immediately gets directly in front of me and attempts to slam on his brakes and cause me to run off the road. I saw it coming, so it didn't affect me. He also tries to fling rocks on my car by swerving to the shoulder...that doesn't work. Last thing he did was try to throw his Big Gulp out the window and hit my car...he missed by like 10 feet. Then he sped off at about 110 mph.

I was already satisfied with how I handled the situation...yet I get the icing on the cake by seeing him pulled over 5 miles up right before I get off on the Six Forks exit to go to work. I was sooooo tempted to honk my horn, but didn't want to warrant any attention from the cop.

Twas lovely.

I'm heading down to New Bern on Highway 70 and I have my niece in the car. We're just singing along (it's the only way I can calm her) so I'm singing who knows what, probably the song from the little mermaid where ariel is showing off her treasure trove. Anyways, the point is, we're driving along having fun and not bothering a soul.

When this huge truck clad in rebel flags and big wheels (just the stereotypical redneck) comes out and cuts me off, so I honked my horn. Just a little hey buddy honk, not a blaring fuck you honk or anything.

If you've ever driven the stretch of HWY 70 between Kinston and New Bern then you know how that roadway can be, there's nothing but trees around for miles and miles and the speedlimit is like 75. Anyways this guy went berserk! It was insane! He was throwing everything he could get his hands on at my car and onto the roadway. He was weaving, cutting me off, screaming at us. It was so terrifying. It was all I could do not to crash.

I cried like a little baby. When he finally took off, I tried to stabilize myself and just drive. I was so happy when I got to where I was going. It freaked me out for a long time.
