Any of y'all going to The Escapist Expo this weekend? I know it coincides with Spark, but it's pretty cool that a video game convention's going in the Triangle, and it's not too expensive. For those interested: Events and Panels.

I won't be able to make it out there today, but I should be there Saturday and hopefully for a bit on Sunday.

I've never been to this convention before. What's it like? I saw the panel list but what else goes on besides the game tournaments?

This is it's first year, so I honestly don't know, but imagine it to be like events in the same vein, PAX and whatnot: a lot of gaming both video and table top, a lot of demos and vendors, a lot of merch, a lot of cosplay, and a lot of silly nerdiness. I've really enjoyed my yearly trips to PAX East, so I have high hopes for this even though I know it's unlikely to be on PAX's scale yet. smoothcrim should be there too. I dunno about other TWWers, but I figure at its price ($30 for weekend passes, $15 for the day) it should be alright.

This looks fun. I think I might come out for some of the panels and maybe check out the Street Fighter tournament.
