the furthest I've read into it is that the Badgers have had some form of this mascot since the 1930s, and we've had the Wolf since the 1960s

so just kinda wondering

clearly the wolf is cooler looking, but that's a pretty big ripoff, whoever ripped off who :3

^seems to be the case. Wisconsin started using it in the 1940s, state in the 1960s. Wisconsin updated and simplified it in 2003, and the same for State in 2005.
