I was thinking about that. During my undergrad, softball had a banner out in center field that was stolen. The Technician had an article about it and the banner was returned the next day.

Details: My flag was on the field leaning against the wall in front of the student section. I was on the field and someone reached down the wall and picked up my flag and started to run, but fell and dropped the pole, but continued up the stadium with my flag.

I've know several people to take flags with them on deployment for photo ops. Just look back to the videos from Military Appreciation Day with all the State flags in them.
