So my was hanging out at the house today and was noticing my cat had a pretty significant sore on his stomach between his rear legs. There is no more hair and it seems to be moist. Like it is a recent sore. I first thought it was some sort of injury from something like a burn or from a fight but does not look like it. He also appears to be losing weight. So i have come to tww for some opinions and what it might be.

He usually spends most his time outside and has never had a problem.

warble?

The fly lays eggs, animal ingests, larvae creates an abscess while it matures, ruptures, and then leaves an open wound.

yeah but then you have a sweet 1911

and no cat

jk. I'm cool with cats, so getwellsoon kitty. I am also cool with 1911s. Actually, mine happens to be peacefully coexisting with my gfs cat presently:

Though this particular cat is an enormous asshole and I would not lose too much sleep if one of those sexy little Hornady FTX hollowpoint .45 rounds spread her all over the wall like warm butter

[Edited on October 7, 2012 at 10:06 PM. Reason : well. maybe a little. that stuff aint cheap]

man right after I sent that she jumped on me and started being really sweet for the first time in 2012, I think. Now I feel bad.

[Edited on October 7, 2012 at 10:14 PM. Reason : probably just hungry]

This. And sometimes a problem isn't worth taking to the vet. But your cat with open sores and losing weight? That's worth going to the vet.

This. Cats aren't the most robust creatures when it comes to injury or illness and they tend to decline rapidly, better get that looked at. Also, update.
