Kathryn Bigelow needs to drop this war movie bullshit and come out with Point Break 2.

Point Break without Patrick Swayze? I don't want to live in that world.

NatGeo is releasing their own movie too, http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/channel/seal-team-six-the-raid-on-osama-bin-laden/.

I wonder which one will be more accurate.

I'd rather see a movie about a lone SEAL infiltrating bin Laden's crew of surfers.

Boycott this film.

This movie was not that good.

It starts by trying to base our finding OBL on information from torture, when there hasn't been any evidence that is the case and people involved have said it is not. Then its very slow and none of the characters have any meaningful relationships or character development. They try to create one friendship between two of the women, they use one of the characters death as motivation for the other to be so persistent, but they never develop the relationship and it is pretty boring and you don't care. Then finally, after this long boring movie, you get a little action. When they do finally get to the raid they try to throw in a little humor, but its so out of place it doesn't really work. They even continue this humor into the actual raid, and its weird. Then the movie is over.

Definitely is not worth paying money for, maybe worth watching illegally online from icefilms or somewhere

It bugs me that in one of the trailers or commercials I saw for it, the lady receives the big call on her cell phone (while the guys are playing horseshoes or whatever) which I am pretty sure would never happen.

The reality of how this went down probably isn't that dramatic.

You can't blame them for trying to make it more dramatic.

At the end they should let him go to catch one last wave. Then when the Pakistani police say that they'll get him when he comes back, one of the SEALs can say "He's not coming back" and then walk off and toss his SEAL badge in the tide.

fuck navy seals. they cheat like crazy and still lose. they spend gold to buy items that nobody else can even has and STILL fuck it up. they don't have to work so they spend all day in the training room. I absolute love it when they get PWNT by raggedy ass noobs on Panama and Mogadishu then rage quit like the bitches.

now they have the movie and it's accurate because it sucks.

i was chillin with some Marines that guard the consulate up in the Business Hojo here in Shanghai. they were bragging talking about "come at me bro" and I was all like: "Libya". bunch of long hair REMFs bitches even have their little brats and hoes here in the city with them. talkin bout partying in Thailand and shit.

i hate armyfags.

1. please enlighten me about when SEALs were pwnt in Mogadishu.

2. Your response to a group of MSGs is pointing to our mission in Benghazi getting overrun when there weren't any MSGs posted there? You sure told them...

This was probably the most realistically boring modern military flick.

Complaints:
- writing made dialogue seemed forced
- lead actress had like, one good scene
- a lot of "nothing" happening. Slow-paced manhunt that plateaus for a majority of the movie
- wildly unrealistic scene with gandalf and the car bomb.

Good stuff:
- mostly believable / realistic
- final scene was methodically / realistically paced, while still being engaging.
- solemn ending = entire theatre was DEAD silent =
- other stuff

It was okay. Mostly uninteresting, though.

This. I enjoyed it but its more along the lines of Syriana than Hurt Locker. I saw a late show and was a little out of it (nodded off a bit) but will give it another good look.

Wildly unreasonable*

But that article says be has made multiple trips in already, and was trusted. That's hugely different (and more believable) than the way it was portrayed: letting him pull into the base unchecked and drive right to the middle of everything the first time he visits. I think I remember her saying something like "Just this one time, I know him".

Plus, that lady jumping up and down like a giddy schoolgirl who got what she wanted for xmas was annoying, at best. And, worst of all, the fact that they introduce and kill off Lauren (the best looking character) within a 10 minute span.

Aka "realistic"

One other thing: the acoustics of the rooms in some scenes made some of the dialogue a challenge to understand. But that may have been an issue with the theatre. Or just my old ears

Well, 'enhanced interrogation techniques' were used with some of the detainees, I guess some would like to pretend it didn't happen.

Also, I find it very interesting that some senators are wasting time and taxpayer money with a special investigation about a movie (although the movie looks realistic, it's still a work of fiction). Why don't they come out with a movie of their own about what really happened?

And they were not effective for obvious reasons and all of the reasons real people involved have said both publicly and anonymously.

it's not a documentary

so whether or not it really happened that way is pretty irrelevant

good movie

I'm interested that they are so interested. Really? I call bullshit, because if I were running shit and someone attacked the country and killed a shit load of people, and my ass was the one who had to find out who..... you better believe I would be torturing the hell out of the Bin Laden posse.

Saw it yesterday, enjoyed the story. Although the main CIA lady was a little annoying, I liked how they played the story out. Got me more interested in looking up the chronology of it all.
