why is it that people have such mixed reactions about me as a user?

this happens a lot on the IGN boards as well - except more people like me than dislike me

like, a lot of you really really hate me and aren't willing to change on that, no matter what

and on the other hand, a lot of you really like me and sometimes think I'm amusing

so what is it that makes people's opinions of me so extreme?

it seems to me that it's either 1) I'm really hated and/or controversial 2) really liked or at least somewhat liked or 3) unknown to people

there don't seem to be too many people that are completely indifferent about me, but it could just be that, given their indifference, they just don't comment

I think there are people that find your obsessive behavior and sense of humor aggravating. I don't, I get your humor and like to think that some of the obsession is an attempt at irony. I'll generally support a lot of behavior in the name of irony.

Because of what and how you post. You have gotten much better than about 1-1.5 years ago. It used to be that there were 30 threads of yours on the front page where you and someone else just padded all night long in an endless array of threads. Then, when looking for actual discussion, I end up wearing out my scroll wheel going past all the bullshit. You do on occasion go back to your old ways.

For me, it seems as though much of what you do is just pad, which either throws a thread off topic, of if you make it, it's a thread with no topic. There's no substance. Nothing. It's just "LOL."

Again, you've gotten much better recently, but you do sometimes start to revert back.

Also, you let people get under your skin way too easily.

And since it has lessened I don't really hate anymore. I don't like attention whores unless it leads to something good. Spamming the whole site with the same image was the worst kind of attention whoring. I understand you may have low self esteem after the passing of my parents I do too. But if you didn't try to get attention by being annoying maybe the attention you get would be better?

So you know how family guy makes the joke out of saying owe too many times and the first time they did it.. It was kinda funny. That's how your posts are to me... They were slightly amusing the first time... But when you keep repeating the same thing it's just annoying and never becomes funny again.

I'm getting a few haters here and there popping up every now and again on IGN boards

while I do spam there some, most of my comments (imo) are either funny, relevant, or positive

I do occasionally +1 by making stupid comments that don't say much, but pretty much everyone else there does that as well, and the boards move a lot faster than here so I'm not 45 of the last replies on the first page there

and honestly since more of the community there receives me more positively, I do post there more often and my comments are actually mostly relevant

yet I still seem to get people that simply don't like me - and they'll come to that conclusion right away. tbh I feel like alts/aliases pop up over there frequently that are the same person giving me shit, but I have no absolute proof of that

I don't talk a whole bunch of shit unless I'm provoked first. not saying that I don't start it occasionally, but it's a rarity

anyway, I know I take the internet too seriously but you guys will get over it after commenting on it 10000000000 more times to make sure that I see and understand your point

Look, I know you don't like me. That's fine. You came here asking for some input. No? I gave you some. There was no hate, flaming or anything else in it other than my opinion on a topic you asked about.

The second quote response isn't a cheap response. It's common sense. If people don't like what you post, and you want them to like what you post, then you don't give them more of the same thing to hate on.

The third wasn't a cheap shot either. You seemed to have some expectation of other people changing. If you want someone to change their viewpoint on you, then you have got to change, because the other person could not care less about their viewpoint changing on you.

If you think those are cheap shots, then you are seriously being overly sensitive.
