I did quit a job via regional conference call, and called our regional manager a fatass in the process. It was pretty awesome. About 90 people were on the call.

I don't recommend that approach unless you already have another job lined up, though.

I once sent a 5 page fax with I QUIT in huge letters on each page. Taped each page together, then looped it, taped the ends together and let that run for a good hour through the machine.

I wish I could find another job that pays as well as my current one so I could quit.

I REALLY don't agree with the direction our upper management is taking the company and I'm beginning to be one of those people who absolutely hates their job

I did the closest thing to quitting my PhD program. I got fed up with the BS over the past 3 years and just declared I would be switching to a MS and finish up this spring without being around campus. It has sucked the life out of me. I can't say there are no regrets, but I can certainly say I won't regret leaving this school. Had I been in a better-suited school for my research interests, I think there would actually be a good chance I'd finish with a PhD. I'll be leaving behind a mountain of data, along with sub-par advisement and a lack of course offerings. If all works out ideally, I might even land an awesome job before the end of this year!

I left one sales job for another.

I basically had turned the failing division around during my time there, but people above me wanted to take credit for it, and continued to treat me like shit. The last straw was when I was scheduled to speak at a conference, and they made me leave the night before and go to job when other people could have handled it.

I didn't do anything overt to show them how much I hated it, but in the month before I left, I started getting the best customers lower quality products telling them that was all that was available.

So then when I started with the new company, I called on these same customers, showing them my "new and improved" shit, and won them all over. Over the next year, I basically went down the old customer list and got almost all them.

I heard the old company threatened the new company's higher ups wanting to file lawsuits and shit, but they never did, of course they didn't know what I had done near the end with them, just that "employee X leaves our company and half the customer base left with him" was their grounds. I got most of the customers on my own and/or brought them with me to the 1st company anyway, so whatever.

I actually did, but it doesn't mean shit in a "right to work" state (an attorney told me that btw)

When I saw them at a trade show a year later, I went out of my way to ask my old boss (in front of his bosses) if he was sure and went out of the way to take credit for me leaving, he just rolled his eyes and walked away.

He doesn't work for them anymore. I still send him a Xmas card every year.
