For Halloween this year I want to hand out something other than candy. I have a 45-pack of rolls of toilet paper and a 24-pack of Monster Energy drinks.

Joking aside, any ideas?

Yes, if someone gave me something other than candy as a kid I would hope it would be toilet paper, because I would know exactly how to use it.

Maybe get a few dozen eggs to give out also?

Chicken nuggets, kids love 'em plus you can get like a 50 pack from McDonald's for a couple bucks.

Your house will be swarmed / raided by hipsters and their stupid kids. See the craigslist free stuff in driveway thread.

I was thinking more along the lines of Hot Wheels, card games, or whatever i can get for maybe $2 - 3 per kid. There are only a handful of kids that show up each year so I wouldn't be spending that much.

just put an empty bowl out with a sign saying "take one"

everyone that comes up will assume that some asshole of a kid took it all, and you're off the hook.

the soda suggestion is good, since it's something that can't be tampered with and the over-protective parents won't make their kids throw away, and Matchbox cars kick ass. I guess whatever the female equivalent for girls is works for them, if you want to be gender specific

You'll excuse me if I don't know what the blazes a 3-10 year old girl might want. Might hit the Dollar Tree and get a couple tiaras or plastic jewelry or whatever. I can put it in a box and let the kids pick what they want.

One year I got packages little mini boxes of stickers in the halloween section. I had unicorns for the girls and hot weels for the boys. The boxes were about the size of a box of NERDS candy.
They liked them.

Juice boxes. Seriously. In my niece's neighborhood, there is one family that always gives out juice boxes or juice pouches. It's typically one of the last houses that the kids hit, so they've been waking around awhile and are eager to tear into something to drink.

also, the empty bowl idea is not brilliant; I tried that one year and, of course, someone just went ahead and stole the bowl

I didn't buy any candy yet, and I'm usually not home until 7 or so. Maybe I won't see anyone that late.

In my boss' neighborhood there's a house that does this. Halfway through the night you suddenly start seeing hordes of children with glowstick necklaces on
