So a guy comes in and asks for a job.
I hand him an application.
He fills it out.
1 week later, I call him up on Friday.
I ask him "Are you still interested in the job that you applied for?"
He says yes.
I ask him "Are you available on Tuesday?"
He says yes.
I ask him "Are you available from 12-2?"
He says yes.
I say "Great, I'll see you on Tuesday at 12-2!"
He says "AWESOME"
I say "Do you want me to call you a day before and remind you?"
He says "No, I'll remember."
I say "Are you SURE?"
He says "Oh yes, positive."
I say "Alright.... see you at 12pm on Tuesday!
He says "Sure thing! Bye"

It's 12:38.

No show.

It's a job at a pizza joint, i wouldn't expect the most hard-working individuals to be applying.

Did you post this because HOOPS MALONE agreed to your proposition? That if people quit picking on you for being a pizza boy, you'd stop posting?

American work ethic:

Never blame the employee, it's always the employer's fault.

No, it's definitely the employee's fault.

But given the type of work that you're looking to hire for, set your expectations accordingly as to what type of people you'll get.

no need to rag on geniusboy itt

i don't care what business you're in, what happened is inexcusable on the employee's part

at suggesting anything otherwise

particularly bullet, pretty funny thing for a liberal to say

why are we calling him the employee?

if he's a no-show on his first day he's hardly employed

^^^^nobody said it was excusable, nobody said otherwise, what are you talking about?

and i'm not a liberal ( at suggesting otherwise) but what does that have to do with anything? Of course irresponsible people are applying for jobs at pizza joints. If they were more responsible and hard-working, I'd hope they'd be able to get a job somewhere more respectable.

Is there a reason why it's only a 2 hour shift?

then clearly you're not broke enough to deliver fliers for a pizza joint

don't think you gainfully employed schmucks are the target market

If Americans could walk for 2 hours without getting tired, I'd give them an 8 hour shift.

Most Americans don't walk.

The average walking mile is ~14 minutes.

By the time two hours is done, they will have walked 8 miles.

8 hours would yield 32 miles.

To put this in perspective, the width of virginia beach from norfolk to the oceanfront is 18.4 miles.
