After a bit of online research, and laughter, kwanza was indeed created by one(1) person.

Between .6 to 1.6 % of Americans celebrate Kwanza, that is roughly 2-4 million people. That number is falling every year.

Oh, and the founder tortured some women, no big deal.

Being an atheist and saying religion is fake is your opinion and thats your call. But being atheist and rolling in kwanza with Christmas, Hanukkah and other religious holidays make me question your decision making ability. You can't realize which one is not like the other, and that is awesome.

Indeed, Kwanzaa did not arise out of any particular religious or cultural tradition but was an artificially imposed syncretic celebration of African heritage, for the purported benefit of those descendants of slaves who don't know precisely which peoples (mostly West African) their ancestors came from.

So the difference is one was made up two thousand years ago and one was made up fifty years ago. got it.

I personally think quanza is more respectable. At least they're trying to celebrate their heritage and culture rather than clinging to some age old shit that doesn't make any sense at all. Sorry people, jesus is not a culture or your heritage. You're from europe and your people used to worship pagan gods until christians burned your culture to the ground.
