Their purpose is to remove the moisture generate from showering. They're not poop fans. 12/14/2012 12:07:21 PM

Its more efficient as a poop fan especially at an office with no shower, it turns into the battle of midway score some days in our office bathroom. Though the can near the president's office was upgraded with what i can only assume is a harrier turbine engine thats so loud you cant hear anything else and a dropped piece of TP will slide across the floor from the vacuum.

^^then why do you put exhaust fans in half-baths and the toilet closets in large bathrooms?
So related note, how should I accidentally brake ours to be louder?

i turn on bathroom fans even when it's just for a #1. no one needs to hear my stream plunging into the water. 12/14/2012 12:14:55 PM

I had them installed in my half bath (no shower/tub) for that reason. 12/14/2012 12:16:22 PM

same here. our office is cramped, so if someone goes in and has a noisy poop, everyone hears and laughs at them 12/14/2012 12:20:52 PM

Yeah, a "whisper quiet" exhaust fan would kind of defeat it's major function for me. I use the bathroom fan more to drown out the sound of my bodily functions than I do for it's ability to clear the air. 12/14/2012 12:23:15 PM

But no really, their intended purpose is to remove moisture after showering. Covering up sound and removing the smell of your shit is just a side benefit. 12/14/2012 4:41:14 PM

That whole drowning out the noise thing. Fuck that shit. I announce loudly, "FIRE ONE" before letting loose with an ass explosion. Of course, subsequent blasts receive the requisite announcements as well. 12/14/2012 7:28:17 PM

^^ that's why it's required with showers, not why they put them in the bathroom at the office.
It's for the smell 12/14/2012 7:33:33 PM
