take power drill
fix one of those ceiling fan outlet hole cutting type things on it
tape straws inside standing up
slide wires down into straws
hold voltmeter
measure first one, and then turn on the drill to spin to the next. rinse/lather/repeat

measure their temperatures with a really sensitive infrared camera? maybe measure the change in current as you apply a known tension? maybe suddenly turn on a magnetic field and measure how far the wires jump?
