"Wake Research Associates New Study Alert
Is the way we make FLU VACCINES today... broken?

Flu vaccines are currently made using chicken eggs and take time to produce. The production time and limited supply of eggs could reduce vaccine availability should a sudden flu outbreak occur.

Volunteers are needed to take part in a clinical research study to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of an investigational flu vaccine that is manufactured without the use of chicken eggs. This could potentially allow for vaccine to be produced more rapidly, increasing availability when needed.

You might be able to take part in this study if:
You are at least 18 years old
You are considered healthy
You have not yet received a flu vaccine this season.
If you decide to join this study, you will receive either the investigational vaccine or a vaccine that is already licensed in the USA.

The study will last for approximately 22 days and involve three visits to the study center. The investigational vaccine, assessments and medical care relating to the study will be provided at no cost to you.

If you know someone who has this condition, please call us at the number below.

I have a hard time feeling its no more than a sales pitch when they say there is a limited supply of chicken eggs.

I got $750 for the study I did, but this one sounds a little different. They tell you when you go to fill out paperwork the exact numbers before you sign anything.

side note, the money does not come until AFTER the study is done.

I participated in a study they conducted a few years back. I got paid $100 for about 2 hours of my time, of course the requirements were very strict on who could participate.

One possible downside. You would not be eligible to donate blood (or sell plasma/platelets) for a year.
