A few are pretty funny, but the majority of them suck.

I've had 2 friends who were semi-professional mommy bloggers. One was able to segway her blogging into a pretty sweet PR gig at SAS that led to a job offer from a tech start up that gives out crazy employee benefits like unlimited PTO.
The other was a stay at home mom, and she got a book deal out of it.

A handful of stay at home dads I know are bloggers, and several of them have taken book deals with publishers. At least one has transitioned to a full-time author now that his kids are in school.

I've been blogging my pregnancy for out of town relatives. I've found it to be very therapeutic but I only post about once a week and give updates of doctors appointments and post nursery progress pics and ultrasound/belly pics.
