Am I the only one that seems to only get FINAL NOTICEs for anything? Nevermind the NC Quickpass bullshit (where the very first bill I got from them, $32 for a single $0.80 toll, came 3 months late with fees tacked on). I swear that since 2003, the first year I had a vehicle registered in Wake, the first thing I see in the mail for my vehicle tax is virtually always the "FINAL VEHICLE TAX NOTICE."

Now, I'm willing to admit that younger-Dave was pretty slack about checking and responding to mail so the early notices could have been buried. But for the last couple years I have been on top of it, checking every day and responding to anything immediately, and I refuse to believe I missed the initial notice(s) again.

Also, you wanna tell me what a "Vehicle Fee" is? For my bike, for example, the "Total Tax" is $37.84, and then under that it says "Vehicle Fee: Raleigh" for $30.00. Same for my truck. $60 in black-box fees.

My tax bill is 2500 on my house, most of it is for land on a steep ridge that the city has an easement across for sewer.....

They tax me more on the land value than my fucking house.
