It's the snake year this year.
Comparing with lunar new year, I prefer the calling Spring Festival. It's the time that spring is coming.

Chinese Americans have submitted an request for Congress to prove which suggests including Spring festival as a legal holiday in US.

^^ i wish we'd all just switch to the metric calendar. if every day had like 1000 hours, i'd be sooooo much more productive.

The day is based on Earth's rotation, so if every day had like 1000 hours, each of those "new hours" would last about 1.44 of our current minutes; in fact the SI (successor to "metric") unit of time is the second (defined in terms of transitions of atomic state), although the prefixes are usually only used to denote fractions, like millisecond and nanosecond.
