well, i am going to be healthier, i try not to swear as much, and have something to do on Sundays now that football is over...I'm not saying I'm the most religious dude, but I think overall religions are generally a positive thing

I don't really have anything to give up that I haven't already cut back on or given up for the most part...

I mean...I don't smoke...and I already haven't drank in over 40 days, so that's no big deal...

I think I'm going to try to stop cussing completely (I've cut WAY back and I've already messed up today ) and institute a "swear jar"....whatever money I collect I will donate...


I have a Lenten Bible study to do to go along with praying...

I also have a ton of clothes to donate for the alms giving portion...


also, I'm going to send a card a day during Lent to all the people who have supported me and family over the last year...

the point of Lent is to get back to the basics. To do self reflection and to work on your personal relationship with God. The form of fasting performed now isn't to put on a show for others, it's something that you do to better your spiritual health. In fact Jesus said if you are fasting, put oil on your head and wash your face, don't let people know you are fasting. He said to do it in private.

Lent is a time to reflect upon our sinful nature. Giving things up that we enjoy is not a requirement of Lent, but it can be a way to help bring out our repentance.
Fasting for some people is just a way to intensify their journey through the season of Lent.


I am also fully aware that I probably just wasted my time in typing that out, as you will probably have a wonderful comeback. But that's just what the point of Lent is.
