I really wish the ACC would just learn to call it like it is and label those Thurs/Fri second games at 2:30 and 9:30. Because there's no way in hell they'll ever start before those times.

really considering this seeing how I will be living in Greensboro at the time. This is one weekend I planned to be back home and not in Greensboro though. May have to rethink that...

acc tourneys are the best. rolling into the tarhole section wearing red for the semis last year was fantastic (until the last few seconds)...they wouldn't even make eye contact, lol

I'm going to try to go. I imagine scalping tickets is going to be harder/more expensive to do for our games than say a BC/FSU game?

We got tickets for about $10 in the lot two years ago, but we were a 10 seed, and the game was basically a funeral. The year before, we couldnt even find a ticket for the semifinal game against GT, but Im sure they wouldnt be anywhere close to cheap.
Theres a good chance the 4/5 game will be State/uncch. That will not be a cheap ticket.

if that is the case and you hang around the staduim after the 1st session of the 1st day, fans of the 12 seed will be looking to unload the rest of their tickets for decent prices.

the key is getting the tickets early.

and we ended up getting 3 to the semis last year for somewhere around $35 each...Granted we got a killer deal for a pair then had to scalp the last one for like $80, but there are good deals to be had for almost any game.

I would just like to state the Greensboro Coliseum is the absolute worst arena for basketball. Literally about 50 section are not facing the court, much less the center of the court. Like you look forward and you are looking straight across at fans. Just hate watching basketball at the place. Ok done with my rant, go Pack!!! Let's win this damn thing!!!

maybe some day the acc will get out of bed with UNC nad have the tournament in nice places. The only other explanation would be that they said "where is the shittiest town in the region that has an arena? ok, which one of those arenas is the shittiiest?, that where we'll have the tournament every yea"

It would be better at the fucking bi-lo center.

Greensboro is the best because its about an 90 minute drive or less from the Big 4 schools, and geographically its pretty close to right in between BC and Miami, the northernmost and southernmost schools in the conference

Well DC is clearly the best option with the new conference its not in anyone's home area but is also central.

[Edited on February 28, 2013 at 2:36 AM. Reason : not quite sure why atlanta hasn't been on constant rotation with an occasional tampa, brooklyn, phil]

DC might be a little more geographically favorable with the additions of Louisville, Pitt, Syracuse and Notre Dame

But with the current 12 school league, 8 of them are in North Carolina or below, so DC or anything North didn't make any sense...Atlanta made much more sense than DC

Tampa isn't in the mix for good reason, nobody would go...they had the ACC Football Championship in Florida and it was half empty, and Florida cares more about football than basketball

Brooklyn, Philly, etc are (were) Big East country, so no dice on those

We'll have the ACC tourney in MSG in the next 5-10 years though, Swofford is already working on it

I want that 190% BYE. Need UNC and UVA to slip up a bit. Would love for a Duke blow-out in the Dean Dome to send UNC to a Thursday game.

NC State will be the 3rd seed if:
1. NCSU wins out AND Virginia finishes 1-1 (or 0-2) AND UNC loses to Duke (or finishes 0-2)
2. NCSU finishes 1-1 AND Virginia finishes 0-2 AND UNC finishes 0-2

NC State will be the 4th seed if:
1. NCSU wins out AND UVA finishes 1-1 (or 0-2) AND UNC finishes 2-0

2. NCSU wins out AND UVA finishes 1-1 (or 0-2) AND UNC loses to Maryland but beats Duke

3. NCSU finishes 1-1 AND UVA finishes 0-2 4. NCSU wins out AND UNC finishes 0-2

NC State will be the 5th seed if:
1. All unlisted scenarios

NC State will be the 6th seed if:
1. NCSU finishes 0-2 AND Maryland finishes 2-0

i'm pretty sure it was poor.

my point is we don't have to play word games to guess at how an acc tournament in tampa would go.

I brought this up previously.

We need a large dome on the east coast. They are all currently in the middle of the country. That we aren't working on that for Charlotte and trying to use the natural strength of NASCAR, basketvball, and football to build a super arena (there will be something like this in Texas SOON!) is LOSING us money.

Now that Maryland is gone, the tourney should be in DC every year just to spite those fuckers. And for purely selfish reasons for me

we can't play the ACC tournament at the home of a ACC member, JOCKASS

if so, we'd play it at the largest ACC arena: the Dean Dome

Wouldn't mind seeing us as the #4 with UVA looming as #5 and Miami as #1. Let Duke and UNC kill each other before we have to play either one of them...

All this hate on Gboro, but you forget, the ACC was founded at Sedgefield Country Club, which is about 4 miles from the GSO Coliseum. Like it or not, GSO is here to stay.
