Special. Tom was complaining how he is "sick of this sh*t," referencing that Miranda has a cold or something. He said she sounded horrible, though I'm fairly certain she didn't sound horrible. I asked him to please watch his language in front of the kids, and he said, "I can't wait to take you to court again." (Disclaimer: the following was all via text, so the kids didn't witness any of it.This week he told me I either needed to send groceries for the kids for the weekend or he wasn't taking them, since I "took half his paycheck." Actually, it's called child support and it's for the kids, not for me, and the Family Support Registry took it because he wasn't paying it correctly on his own." I told him that I neither had money to buy groceries for his house, nor could I keep the children because I have class on the weekends, and he has custody of them on the weekends. He told me how selfish I am and then proceeded to tell me how it's just like me to never help people out. Then he went on to say that I needed to get my washer fixed or he was going to call DHS on me for not having a working washer and washing clothes in the bathtub instead of going to the laundromat. Congrats. I started going to the laundromat several weeks ago, not that it would make a difference to DHS while they were laughing at his report. Told him that I had been going to the laundromat and he argued and said that's not what the kids told him. Then I told him that I go to the laundromat on the weekend, when I don't have the kids, so they've never seen me go. At this point, he ran out of things to harass me about and said, "I'm done talking to u. I will be submitting paperwork for a change in parenting time." Hilarious. Apparently he doesn't realize that if he has less time with the kids, they'll reevaluate child support.) Anyway, then he starts complaining about how long the kids are taking to get out of my house and into his vehicle (even though he's the one that sent Amelia back inside to get DVDs) and says how he's going to start showing up an hour early so that they can leave on time. (Yes, do that. Please. We get home from school about 10 minutes before he picks them up.) Joe asks what they're having for snack, and Tom responds with a comment to the effect of "I'm still trying to hunt down food since my paycheck was only $300...no, $500, because your mom took half of it and I have a $200 utility bill to pay." I told Tom that that money is court-ordered child support to help support his children and he needs to stop telling them that I am taking his money because that's not the case. Miranda was trying to ask me if I could go in the house and get her a tortilla to eat, and before I could answer, Tom made a statement about me needing to get money from someone other than him (or something like that) and then I told him he needed to not talk about me in front of the kids, and he told me to get out of his vehicle (I was standing on the street, but next to Miranda's open door). I said I was talking to my daughter and he said, "Well, I think it's pretty clear that she's done talking to you." I said my goodbyes to the kids, and will probably put up with another load of his crap on Sunday when he drops them off. Exes sure are fun sometimes!
