Pretty cool, and I scored higher than most Americans (31/36)
What do you guys think of it/how did you do?

I got 25/36

I'm very socially inept, and this only reinforces my poor impression of myself

oh wait, I'm not remembering my raw score correctly...I think I was 1 below the average

anyway, I subconsciously expect most people to score above average on a test like this (even though logically you'd expect people to score the average, on average)

but it seems to be happening, nonetheless ^^, ^, etc.

25/36

(^^^people who scored below the average are less likely to report their score. also, i bet people who aren't good at it kinda suspect it and don't finish the test)

21/36 I might take it again. It was very difficult for me to decipher just the eyes. I always focus on the eyes when I talk to someone so I thought I would have done better than I did.

I'm curious to find out if this study has more implications that what is put forward in the summary (re: gender constructs, etc). I noticed that all the females were very similar in appearance, age, race, makeup style, and what could be interpreted as similar levels of widely-accepted standard of beauty. The men, however, were all over the board.

So last night when I did it I was drunk (barely recalled doing it).

I got a 27 then.

Did it today and:

Thank you for participating!

Your score on this test was 33 out of 36.

The average result for adult population is 26 out of 36.

Note that your screen, ambient light, and other factors might have impacted your result. Also, because all the images used in this study were of Caucasians (i.e., white people), your exposure to Caucasian faces might also have affected your score.

So, it seems that being drunk negatively impacted my ability to gauge physical communication.

Am I the only one who got sub-20?

That is odd to me considering I am very good about maintaining eye contact while listening to people. Shrug.

Being real good at looking at something doesn't mean you know a thing about what you lookin' at.

Yeah, it was annoying, but ah well.
I'm surprised so many people responded to this. I'm also surprised that the average was so high.

I, too, took it twice. I did worse (well, 25/36 worse) when I was in a bad mood, I chose a lot more of the negative expressions

A lot of the picture angles / choices seemed like dead giveaways. I guess that reflects someone tilting their head or whatever.

I'm more terrified at what I give away (usually disinterest) through my eyes more then what I pick up. I have a hard time maintaining eye contact, but those seemed pretty easy.
