$105

Are these polarized?

All my bids are contingent on me coming by and trying them on to make sure they actually fit me. (I've never worn Costa's before but Oakley's fit me very well)

serious question: do costas have the unconditional warranty like smiths?

$160 is more than a comparable pair of smiths (even at retail), and you can run your smiths over with your car (or even break them intentionally if you feel so inclined), send them in, and get a new pair without any questions...at least, you could as of last year

i'm just wondering what makes costas worth the premium

[Edited on May 29, 2013 at 9:27 AM. Reason : clearly, i've never owned a pair of costas...just native and smith]

Costa's warranty isnt that good, but they are lifetime warrantied against defects, and I have had a few replaced under warranty and they generally are wonderful to work with.

As far as the glasses themselves, they are very high quality. Glass instead of plastic lenses, and great polarization. I've had Oakley's, Arnettes, Maui's, Smiths and Nike glasses, and the quality of these lenses are above and beyond others IMO.

They now seem to be a "fad" among the "salt life/guy harvey/gay jacked up redneck truck" crowd, however I've had them since 2003 and they really are meant for true fisherman/outdoorsman.

I dont understand why a pair of sunglasses would cost $200? Do they have x-ray vision or something?

dude, Costas have been a fad since I was an undergrad in the early 00s. That is nothing new at all.

That being said they are fantastic glasses. I'm on my second pair of Brine frames and 4th set of lenses and i've had them all replaced via customer service for the past roughly 8 years. Even when the warranty expires you really only pay for the lenses. I sent mine back to get lense pair #3 and they sent me a brand new pair of glasses. I guess the decided mine had seen enough abuse. I only paid for the lenses. The top end glass lenses are completely worth it. I've had green mirror glass and they are such a relief to my eyes in the sun. They are perfect when i'm on the boat or fishing and they increase visibility when driving in cloudy gray conditions.

i keep a spare pair of costas in my boat just in case i forget my regular ones (it's usually dark when i launch my boat). pretty much impossible to spend a day on the water without them.

You get what you pay for imo. Paid ~200 for a pair of Flack Jackets a few years ago and they are still in great shape. It's all relative though. Do you buy all your shoes from Payless since they are cheaper?

I usually wear New Balances because they are the most comfortable. Generally I get them from TJ max for the 30-40 dollar range.
