Today is a day to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving, not all veterans.

Ha, I'm not trying to tell anyone to go do anything, and I'm certainly don't discouraging people to go out and thank a vet or something, but I think it's important to clarify the difference between the two days are

that's not so weird. You have a picture of a baby in your photo album lusting after a box of KFC.

They don't make KFC boxes that small.

Guess I should have been more specific

Everyone should definitely take a moment during the day to pause and reflect on the sacrifices others have made for your country.

Those holding minimum wage jobs with no benefits shall take a moment during lunch to pause and reflect on the sacrifices others have made for our country.

I have had this thought about 1000x this weekend.

I haven't really called anyone on it, though, because they have only the best intentions and, being AD military myself, I wouldn't want to come across as ungrateful or rude.

^ That's wasn't my intent. I do appreciate the sentiment of people saying 'Thank you for your service' or taking a second to appreciate active duty or other veterans.

two people approaching a very very mild misunderstanding, informing each other of their intentions to the letter and then concurring that they do, in fact, agree.

On the INTERNET

For that, I thank you BOTH for your service.

I took a DMZ tour while in Korea for work a few years back. Naturally I bought a few souvenirs, including a t-shirt at the Panmunjom gift shop.

I can't wear it because a few people always stop me and thank me for my service when I have it on.

Being active duty as well, I let it ride.

People have the best intentions in mind so I will not hate.

Considering we lose more soldiers on our own soil than on battlefields these days, I say we give servicemen and women as many goddamn days as they want.
