I heard it was long and drawn out with about 30 mins of action at the end. I might just wait for Red box on this one. 7/6/2013 11:26:45 AM |

you mean did I see the Pirates of the Caribbeans on the set of the Wild Wild West?
No I have not. 7/6/2013 5:15:24 PM |

I don't know how "good" it was, but I was entertained. The first 30 minutes were pretty slow, but the pacing got faster as the movie went on. The story was a little predictable, but decent and the dialog was pretty witty. Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter were both pretty good, but did you honestly expect anything less from them? Not as good as Pirates of the Caribbean, but it's hardly the worst way to spend $7 and 2 hours of your life.
On an unrelated note, I've somehow managed to make nearly all my sentences take the form of "[blahblahblah], but [blahblahblah]." 7/6/2013 7:49:54 PM |

Was way more enjoyable than the reviews make it seem. The only real gripe is the pacing.
The conspiracy theorist in me says the reviews are intentionally low to undermine the anti-federal expansion themes in the movie "If these men are the law, I'd rather be an outlaw" etc.
But really, it was definitely not "bad". A fantastical story set in the Wild West. It's elaborate lore, just as it should be - and the story is told as such within the movie.
The setting / landscapes are amazing though, along with some of the cinematography.] 7/7/2013 1:02:25 PM |

All the reviews I've read have mentioned a pretty liberal "white guilt" message in the movie. 7/8/2013 1:06:00 PM |

The film was filthy with white guilt. No subtlety whatsoever. 7/8/2013 2:36:55 PM |
