If you've already banged makes no diff. I wouldn't otherwise. Also, don't be going to chain restaurants for date.

If a chick has a problem with you trying to save some money, then you shouldn't be dating her in the first place.

On my first date with my current GF I used a $100 Visa Gift Card that I won at work.

i wouldn't do this unless you've been dating for a while. otherwise she's going to think you're a cheap ass bitch.

this is a little different because you aren't trying to save money because that is essentially money.

depends on how long yall have been dating and the type of relationship. some frugal chicks might be cool with that. i tried to give my sig other a bogo coupon to use for sushi when he took me out for my bday after dating less than a year and he refused. he's loosened up since though.

i think it would also be ok to use them if the girl was fat/unattractive because they won't mind and you sure as hell don't want to burn a hole in your wallet just for brown bag BJ.

So far, most of my dates have been me showing up with ingredients and putting shit together with little effort. Some say I'm a cheap bastard, I say I make awesome food for $1.50 a plate. Cheaper when I hit the farmers market and deal like a jew since I buy like a trunk load of food at a time.

Actually about to have a first date with a neighbor chick I met this morning after offering her a fresh fruit smoothie. 50 cents worth of fruit and she already looks prime to take her shirt off for me... lolz

Don't do it until she's already in the bag. Even if you are a cheap fuck...try not to come off as one until you've got her hooked.

If she picks the place, and THEN you mention/find a coupon...she better be cool with it.

Otherwise, she's just a dumb. Would not bang date.

I say get a 2 for 20 a chillis, a groupon for movie tickets, and a walk around the nearest park. All this can be done for under $40. A woman that doesn't respect a man saving money is a gold digging bitch.

Sounds like me and Minka would make a great couple.

Also, hiking is my favorite date and no guy has ever taken me hiking and that shit is free. Eating food on a date is overrated, imo.

You want to test her, invite her for a run as the first date. Its free and you get to see her without her war paint, and hopefully in yoga pants.

I love the entitlement of the gold diggers in this thread.

You're getting a free fucking meal and you wanna judge a guy for saving his money?

Shit, if anything, it's a good sign of financial stability.

It also depends entirely on the place.

Nothing wrong with using coupons...but using them on an initial date just shows that you're an idiot...or just broke.

Again, it depends on where you're taking them.

If it's a groupon/living social certificate at a cool spot and you've got to spend $50 or more, any chick to judge you for that is a fucking cunt. Hell even $30 for a total stranger seems kinda generous.

If it's a coupon for Applebee's or some uncreative chain that doesn't show you've thought about making it a pleasant experience, that's quite another thing.

Why can't you just hold off on using the coupon until later?

Ah, so it's better to pretend that you don't use coupons early on (even though you do) to trick them into a second date.

Sounds like a great foundation for a relationship

Seems like you're never going to come around on this, but I'll try one last time and put it in the most simple terms I can...

You can call it lying, exaggerating, not being yourself...whatever.

To a certain extent, it is those things. But as my mom would say...its about putting your best foot forward. On the first date or two you wear your best shirt (for girls...your most flattering outfits). Maybe you put on the expensive cologne. Maybe you go to a restaurant that you don't go to all the time or do something fun and adventurous.

This isn't shit you do all the time. You're a t-shirt and jeans kind of guy. You rarely ever wear cologne. You usually eat cheap or make sandwiches at the house. You like to do fun stuff...but its not like you do crazy shit every day.

But whether you like it or not...you're trying to impress the other person. You're trying to say..."hey, look at me! I am something that is worth your time and hopefully your sponge!" You don't get a second chance to make a first impression. So if you bust out that groupon on the first date you risk the girl saying..."Groupon huh? I guess that's okay...but I hope our whole social life doesn't revolve around what coupon specials are available."

That girl doesn't sound like a gold digger to me...but you've already got her worried a little bit. Maybe you two have a good time, but maybe she already has a match.com date lined up the next night with a guy who does something similar, but doesn't bust out the two-for-one deal. Next thing you know, you're staring at your phone waiting for a text that will never come...while your girl is getting deep dicked by the guy who didn't wave his 8"x11" livingsocial printout to the server before desert came.

Bottom line...better safe than sorry. Save the coupon for a later time.

meh

I, personally, wouldn't ever use a coupon on the first date (poor form, and the odds are stacked against you), but I think it's fucked up that many would judge me if I did. Says a lot about what people expect from each other, which is simultaneously way too much and not enough...
