Of course in my Venice game France is blobbing and right next to Lombardia. I've built it up and they want it bad. I'm In a coalition against them but they are ahead of me in tech level. Luckily I have quite a bit saved up for when I need mercs. I want to Form the Italian Nation for the defensive and manpower bonuses, but I also want to stay a Merchant Republic because money. Also I don't know how I took Rome from the Pope without getting Excommunicated. 8/19/2013 8:07:58 PM |

Yeah, I've been playing as Milan and Italian nation is my goal as well. I think I only need to take Ancona and Roma to be able to form it. France is a monster though. There was a war where they were trying to take Periona or something from Castile and they were allied with a pretty strong Bavaria. Against them were myself, England with a one-province Scotland as a vassal, Aragon, Portugal, and several decently strong German nations along with a few others. They won that war. I had to restart like 5 times trying out different strategies because they had like 2 45-unit armies moving around destroying everything in their path. Their war exhaustion never went up because they were buying it down even though those huge armies were attritioning the entire time.
Eventually, I decided I should attack Bavaria because it was left undefended. I got their capital and their next two strongest provinces and they white peaced or gave Castile money or something. I think at that point we could have taken France on but Castile surrendered because of their lack or motivation or exhaustion or something.
It's not so much that France has massive armies and manpower. It's that their armies don't ever attrition and their war exhaustion never gets above 6 because their king is so badass that they have infinite diplomacy points. 8/19/2013 11:38:15 PM |

Does the clock just run? Can you adjust it? I pause the game a lot to check things out, how does that work with multiplayer? I've never even attempted it. 8/27/2013 12:07:31 AM |

You typically run at a pre-determined speed. It's not too fast. The host can pause or adjust the speed I think. 8/27/2013 2:33:57 PM |

yeah you communicate with the host and play at a determined speed, you can pause and for 30 seconds only you can unpause, after that anyone can 8/28/2013 12:49:55 AM |
