don't run it under the faucet, that's almost always excessive.
instead, run water over your hands and use the towel to dry them off.

I used to use that method, but I switched to another method some years ago.
Fold paper towel into quarters, then hold it one hand and sprinkle water on to it with the fingers of the other hand until required dampness is achieved. Turn over and do the same on other side. You get uniform dampness with this method. 9/21/2013 8:46:31 AM
