I will be attending UNC as an undergrad very soon. I dont know what to do about it. My other options were Duke or Washington.

...last year i made a lot of money...and then they pay me a monthly stiphend for living expenses, but i have free health care, and some money from the VA, so all in all i live a very good life.
also, they pay for all of my educational needs as well, usually a new laptop is included, which is nice...so i got that going for me

Why would you want to get several undergrad degrees? That just seems like a monumental waste of time and crazy, UNLESS you are rich and never have to worry about having a roof over your and your family's head. I have the utmost respect for people who want to learn, so kudos for wanting to learn so much, but if you are just doing it for self-fulfillment and curiosity, it can be done in other far cheaper ways, on your own.
Anyway, like I said, if you have some ancestral riches, go for it! 12/3/2013 12:20:30 PM

I have always been told multiple bachelors degrees are almost pointless, unless company who wants to hire you after you complete a certain degree you don't have yet, will pay for it, and then it would totally be worth it. 12/3/2013 12:22:57 PM

not so much the riches thing, but I dont have any kids or a wife to support, and honestly i didnt really expect i would hate the other job that i did so much. Plus its actually in a field i really like and this program would let me go all the way through for a masters and like i said further. So its really a good option now.
Plus learning new stuff is kinda fun...sometimes
only downside is i have to take a couple pre-reqs for it which i still think are stupid and i shouldnt have to take...alright, im done for now 12/3/2013 12:24:09 PM

you'll survive
be sure to wear your ncsu hoodie or shirt or hat or whatever when you're on campus. they love that.
^some people change careers & have to get another bachelor's before they'll be accepted to any grad programs. i don't see anything wrong with that.

I understand why people go back for additional undergrads. It just shows me that they cant stick to something, no matter how horrible and painful it is. And to work with me, you need to be able to put up with some shit. 12/3/2013 1:34:39 PM

i guess it depends on the field. it's one thing to be changing jobs every year, but going back after several years in a particular field doesn't seem like a big deal to me. of course with certain fields i'm sure it's more questionable than others. 12/3/2013 1:40:51 PM

That's pretty stupid. Following your also stupid logic, what about people who received two degrees during the same period in school? You're assuming the "can't stick to something" just because they chose to take an additional few classes to get another degree.] 12/3/2013 2:09:29 PM

that different, it's also important how long it took them to get the two degrees simulataneously and whether or not the two degrees actually relate to eachother and improve the person's skill set that would be used in their future
not everyone can do a double major though, and so it's obviously not for everyone 12/3/2013 2:53:49 PM

I used to see a guy at my bus stop that rocked a bright read NCSU hoodie every day. I picked up a gray NCSU hoodie for Christmas last year, so we would always acknowledge each other in passing. Probably one of the BME kids as that is a dual-enrollment program, so they are back and forth between campuses a lot. 12/3/2013 3:04:08 PM
