Because it will be our baby's first Christmas and we will want to start some of our own traditions. It isn't set it stone and we may go see family for dinner, but I plan on waking up at my own home and eating breakfast here at the very least. My sister and her husband and kids dont leave their house on Christmas since their first kid was old enough to enjoy Christmas. And we come from a divorced family so we are used to doing things whenever we can, not just on the exact holiday. 12/16/2013 9:18:38 PM

Get drunk and try to find something to watch on TV
Especially this year. Fuck. Gonna get some god damn terrible news the next day, that I still haven't come to grips with, so may as well drink myself into a blackout.

Just hang around the house. My wife and I are both from KS so no real family nearby to go and see or anything. Even if there was, I've never been big on leaving the house on Christmas day. 12/16/2013 9:28:08 PM

Do immediate family stuff at my parents house in the morning. Them we normally go over to my grandma's (on dad's side) for lunch and presents with that side of the family. Sadly, that grandma passed away this year. So I'm not sure what we'll do this year. Always have gone to her house on Christmas Day. So it'll be weird this year. 12/16/2013 9:59:22 PM

Christmas Day is over for me around noon. Christmas Eve is our big family night. I usually get drunk and sleep over at my parents' house. Wake up, exchange gifts with my mom and dad and then head home. In the past a SO's family stop would be involved, but I'm single this year so hopefully i'll be on my couch with a western on TV by 2pm. 12/17/2013 8:33:26 AM

Drive to parents' house Christmas Eve
Make my parents and my sister (and sometimes any girlfriend or boyfriend) dinner. Usually Cioppino
Watch Jim Carrey's A Christmas Carol (my mother loves it) maybe have a couple drinks
Sleep
Wake up leisurely on Christmas morning
Exchange gifts
Make stuffed French Toast for everyone
Relax for a few hours
Head to my Aunt and Uncles for Christmas Dinner
Back to my parents place, chill, maybe fiddle with any particularly interesting gift 12/17/2013 9:00:40 AM

since being married, we alternate whose house we do Christmas Eve & Morning at and whose house we spend Christmas day and night at. Personally, I prefer the years where we do Christmas Eve at my father-in-law's because my wife, her twin sister, their dad (and now his gf whom I like as well), and I all go out for Sushi and then come home and open a handful of seasonal beers. He and I also save bottles so we have certain things (like the Trader Joe's Vintage Ale, St. Bernardus Christmas, ME Silent Night, etc.) that have been saved for anywhere from 1-3 years, specifically for Christmas. 12/17/2013 9:05:46 AM

yeah having a side of the family that enjoys drinking really makes the holidays better.
my dad's side rarely drinks and my mom hosts them usually the weekend before Christmas. It's fun, but with only one or two people drinking the night wains and i'm usually one of the first ones to leave. but my mom's side, who we host on Christmas Eve, are finally starting to come around and open up a little bit each year. Now that my cousins are old enough I can usually count on a handful of us to open bottles and have a good tasting. 12/17/2013 9:31:25 AM

Going to be with the wife's family this year and I'm pumped. I love my family, but they don't drink as heavy as hers...so I don't feel bad when I get wasted. They also cook like a motherfucker. I love my mom's food, but the in-laws do it up. Oysters Rockefeller, Stuffed lobster, awesome deserts, etc. It's definitely an event. 12/17/2013 9:36:13 AM

If this one goes like a usual Christmas, I'll spend the day bouncing between 3 houses until around mid afternoon. Then I'll get drunk at my mom's house and pass out on the couch, wake up the next morning and drive back to Raleigh. 12/17/2013 9:43:42 AM

2010 was the last time we had a 'regular' christmas day - this year we'll be less than 4 weeks away from baby time so opening the few gifts we got each other at home is the plan
we used to typically spend christmas at her parents' house and we did my family's side over new years or another random week in december when it worked out for everyone 12/17/2013 10:00:06 AM

I think Christmas day is like spring festival, or Chinese new year, in China. But the second one is usually late Jan or early Feb.
