All the smug Prius drivers in the fast lane are inflating our ranking. These assholes account for 90% of the bad drivers I encounter in the RDU area lately.

This. I just moved down here a few months ago and it's on a whole different level. It's a mix of the natives, who are all idiots without exception, and of course all the old people. Every time I get in my car, I feel like I'm risking my life. Thank god all the roads are straight and flat here, otherwise this would be the scene hundreds of times a day:

With regards to Jersey and New York, everytime I've been up there I'm amazed the driving isn't worse considering how ridiculous the roads are.

^&^^the sheer concentration of vehicles combined with narrow roads pretty much requires you to have decent driving chops up there.
