I think we need to drill down to the real issue here. There is a rumor that popcorn was thrown. If the dad/father threw buttery popcorn at the 71 year old retired cop, that could be considered an attempted assault with a weapon... Just think of the cholesterol.

Why is texting in a theatre such a horrible thing? Whats the harm if the person turns the brightness down and sound off?

I'd also like to know what happened when the shooter went out to complain about someone texting in the theatre. I'd bet the reason he came back without a manager or staff member to eject victim is because they told him to chill out and move seats.

^^ It was. It all went down during the trailers according to the guy who was one row down from the victim. Guy was supposedly texting his 3 year old daughter.
