There isn't much organized Playstation content on here so this is that.

First of all, PS+ is amazing. PS+ gives you free (as in free for as long as you're a PS+ member) games and really good discounts. Here's a list of all the games they're given out for free. Just in the past few weeks i got Bioshock Infinite, DMC, Borderlands 2 on PS3 and Don't Starve, Resogun, and Contrast on PS4. Previously Hotline Miami (PS3/Vita), Uncharted 3 (PS3), and more i can't think of right now.

There's also a really good sale going on and I picked up Limbo, Stealth:, and Rain for $10 total.

It's overwhelming.

I also got a PS4 last week. Right away i put a new 1tb HD in it and put its 500gb into the PS3. Both swaps went smoothly and i'm now prepared to handle the onslaught of PS+ games.

Right now on PS4 I'm playing NFS:Rivals, Resogun, and Don't Starve. I'm not feeling Contrast a whole lot, but maybe I'll give it some time after these games.

The PS4 controller is also brilliant. I use it on the PS3 via USB cable now.

Have any of you tried PS4's Remote Play with a Vita? We only have one TV in the house so i could see it being really handy for playing PS4 on the cough while the gf watches Too Cute.

Playstation Plus membership which spans all three devices?
A cross-buy title which gives licenses for multiple devices?
Playstation Now which will allow playing PS1/2/3 games on the PS4?
Remote Play which allows playing PS4 games on a Vita?

Vita is Sony's primary channel for indie games. They often come out on it first as a trial before they're released on PS3/PS4. So if you like indie games, Vita is fairly compelling. But ultimately, its kinda pricey and American adults (Sony's audience) simply don't game on the go like the Japanese do. I'd feel sort of weird gaming on the T as a 33yr old, but its not uncommon to see business executives, etc on the train in Japan gaming away. Interesting.

I keep hearing mixed reviews on Remote Play, but i'm starting to get the impression it works well on the same LAN or directly connected through the direct wifi link. I'll likely pick up a used one of craigslist because it would fit our household's needs quite well.

Btw, the more i play PS4 the more i love the analog sticks on the DS4 controller. For the first time i feel like i'm really able to control the gray area between the center and extreme positions. Almost makes me want to play FPSs on it.

anybody have trouble loading games or blue-rays on their ps3?

for one particular games, it takes my ps3 a while to even recognize the game

then sometimes takes forever loading

i've gotten to a point where the game keeps messing up, and actually locks my entire ps3 up. the only way i can reboot it is by unplugging it. this is the first time i've ever had this problem (although i've had trouble recognizing blue-rays before)

^nah, i haven't experience that. I'd guess your bluray drive is crapping out. Is there any way to clean them? I wonder what Sony would charge to fix it if its out of warranty. Might to also look for spare parts on ebay.

I will add that the PS+ is probably one of the best values for your money. They give you a ton of high quality titles for a subscription.

I will also admit that I'm a Vita owner. Bought it mainly for Persona 4, Walking Dead, the supposed interplay with PS4, and the talk that the hardware changes would introduce an inferior display for future Vita models (which is debatable in hindsight). I have yet to purchase a PS4 however; I still haven't seen the "title" that would tilt it for me (Valkyria Chronicles and the Bluray player were what did it in the previous generation).

Kind of strange that the PS4 thread isn't even at 2 pages while the XBox One/one is at 20. I guess the controversy lended to that. At some point in time, I'm not even sure how XBox became popular. I guess it was simply Halo (which I never found interesting). It was always peculiar to me that the superlative PS2 lost ground with PS3 when the 360 came out. When did it become cool to have an XBox?

Still haven't bought a system yet, see no reason to.

I just got a Vita for a trip to Hawaii and to try out Remote Play with the PS4. I must say, its pretty impressive.

it was cool that a ton of my games (mostly PS Plus indie type games) were cross buy and showed up as free for the Vita. The cross-save feature worked well and i can sync saves between Vita/PS3/PS4.

But what's really impressive is playing Destiny on Vita via Remote Play. We only have one TV so it really solves our sharing issues with the TV. She can watch Ray Donovan and i can sit on the couch and play Destiny. It's slick. The controls are solid and there is no lag or visual artifacts that i can detect. The Vita thumb sticks aren't as good as the DS4s, but i'm getting used to them.

(assuming the ff12 remake comes to fruition), with final fantasy collection, jak and dexter collection, devil may cry, and metal gear, ico/shadow, and silent hill, thats basically all the ps2 games I cared about getting HD remakes...I know it's not all all sony's decision but gj giving the fans what they want

publishers view 'what people will buy' and 'what fans want' synonymously. the fact that these were great games in their time means they have a good chance to sell to new eyeballs with very little capital risk compared to new development or acquiring new IP
