Yes shootings happen every day and they have for many decades. We only make threads about it when it's white middle class people being shot.

I never fantasize about shooting people.

Setting stuff on fire though...that's my jam. There's a cobbler and a Starbucks location that have got it coming big time. Whoever's databasing the crazy should make a note that I'm too incompetent to actually start a fire.

believe it or not, my thought is that, the more attention is drawn to mental disorder (i.e. making new names for them, coming up with subsets of existing ones), the more shit like this tends to happen

people start calling people crazy

the "crazy" people interpret it the wrong way and things escalate out of control

if we as a society didn't brand people as "mentally insane" in a derogatory manner, we might not have as many random acts of violence.. (that actually aren't so "random" at all)
