I aint saying figure skating is easy. There are lots of things that are hard that aren't sports. Not looking like a total goober while wearing ice skates certainly isn't easy, but it's still not a sport.

Any "sport" where the winner is determined by judges should be relegated to an "athletic competition". Doesn't lessen the impact of the strength, agility, endurance, etc., to succeed, it's just not called a sport.

I don't care for it all that much (although i watched some of this weekend), but it most certainly is a sport, it requires extreme strength and athletic abilities.

I remember writing a paper at State in which my argument was that NASCAR was not a sport. I ended up proving my opening statement wrong throughout the paper and sadly admitted defeat at the end of it.

^I had to write a similar paper when I was Freshman (English 111Z I think?) but we had to do cheerleading. I can't remember if I had to prove if it was or wasn't a sport.
