Not sure how I feel about this. There's no competition as it is, so does it matter? Comcast line up better suits me, and their internet appears to be faster... From what I can tell.
Anyone with comcast horror stories? Thoughts? 2/12/2014 10:31:43 PM |

from what i've heard from Comcast customers is that Comcast is pretty much a clone of TWC...so don't expect much improvement. 2/13/2014 12:50:08 AM |

Fuck this. There is no goddamn way it will get regulatory approval. A merged company would control nearly half of all broadband in the US. 2/13/2014 2:30:52 AM |

I just hope they don't bring forth data caps
then again with half the broadband, they'd probably do just that
and if that does happen I hope the FCC finally decides to declare ISPs to be "common carriers" just like phone companies are 2/13/2014 2:45:25 AM |

I know it is going to be hard to believe this. But having had both, comcast is 10x worse than TWC in terms of customer service and trying to screw people out of money. 2/13/2014 6:06:29 AM |

I hope you're right. Unfortunately I don't think you are, since lobbyists run this fucking country.2/13/2014 9:22:45 AM |

The comcast executive vp, David Cohen, is pretty chummy with President Obama IIRC. He and his lobbyist have contributed greatly to the campaign and fundraising efforts.

I don't think any of this points to anything particularly good for the consumer. Technology wise, comcast is great in that they have invested a lot of money in their platform. But as far as customer service, and price.... They are dreadfully lousy.

Well, a merged company would make it far easier to nationalize on the national level (more precisely, regulate as a government monopoly). As such, maybe they'll approve it. 2/13/2014 10:33:39 AM |

^^but then companies with capital to expand into new markets drastically decrease.
From what i can tell comparable channel lineups give me NHL network without the sports package. That a plus for me. And standard broadband is 25 vs 15 on twc.
I just want the municple broadband law repealed. Its done wonders in Wilson. 2/13/2014 1:20:44 PM |
