Has anyone else been watching on ESPN3? I can't watch a whole match because it takes too long, but it is kind of enjoyable to watch the first 5 overs of the first team that bats and then fast forward it to when the second team batting needs about 60, or less runs to win. The Dutch got pwnt by Sri Lanka yesterday. They only scored 39 runs in 10.3 overs which is a world record for fewest scored in a 20s match. Most teams score well over 100 runs in a 20s match. The New Zealand vs South Africa game had a pretty wild finish. New Zealand batted second and scored some 4s really late and needed 3 runs on one ball to win, but the last batter didn't get it done, so they lost. I think cricket could be enjoyable to watch if each team only played 10 overs.

^LOL!

Honestly, I see a lot of American sports culture in cricket.

1) They swing a bat and score runs like in baseball

2) The batters dress like a hockey gk and hold a bat that looks like a gk hockey stick and try to stop the other team's bowler from hitting the wicket with the ball.

4) There is a 4 point play and 6 point play like in basketball and football.

5) Most forms of the sport take at least 3+ hours to complete a match, sort of like a NASCAR race. They also compete on a circle playing area.

I think the sport could catch on in America as long as they allow people to bring in coolers that are no larger than 14 inches.

^I agree. I don't want to watch a sport that takes that long with so little action. I could probably watch a whole match though, if both teams only batted for 10 overs. That would probably take a little over 2 hours which is about like a basketball game.

^The average baseball game is still shorter than the average T20 cricket match. Watching part of a cricket match can be enjoyable though. I do wonder how they can have pro leagues and tournaments though since the stands are always pretty empty.

LOL! England got beat by the Dutch. Now England is 4th in their group of 5 ahead of the Dutch. I guess they are carrying on the tradition of sucking at the sports they created.

Some might disagree, but the NFL is America's new national past time. Blame the 24 hour news media, the "want everything immediately" internet age mentality or whatever, but the NFL is the king.

^Yep, you can call baseball whatever you want, but there is no doubt the NFL is king.

Anyway, I picked Pakistan to win tomorrow in Streak For the Cash and finished 1-2 in Streak For the Cash this past month in cricket. I went with the majority yesterday and picked New Zealand even though Sri Lanka looked pretty good when I watched then beat the shit out of the Dutch.

ESPN3 didn't carry it this year, but I was watching soccer last night and they mentioned that the West Indies beat England by 4 after scoring four 6's (home runs) in the last over. One over = 6 legal deliveries of the ball to the batter from the bowler (pitcher).

/NC State Shit!
