I live in Burlington and I love it Live music, craft beer, skiing an proximity to the mountains, Lake Champlain, and very progressive politics. It may be small, but there is a lot of good that comes in that package (If you can handle cold winters). The downside is the demand to live here is high so there is a low vacancy rate and higher rent. As for home ownership, I don't know too much about that market in VT.

I live about an hour and half north of burlington. No idea there was a twwer anywhere within 5 hours of here, so hay there, eyewall!

I was trying to find a rental in burlington a few years ago, and there was just about nothing available that wasn't a complete dump. all of vermont has ridiculous real estate prices. fucking city slickers and their vacation homes jacking errythang up.

^^ Hahah yeah technically I am in Winooski and I pay $700 a month for a 1 br (slightly bigger than a studio) in a house that was divided into 3 apartments. That is about as cheap as you will get. I would look into Winooski as an option and we have our little downtown with some good bars and restaurants. A known music venue in the area (The Monkey House) is here. I moved here almost a year ago.
