"Maybe you should just stay on reddit. Reddit is a shit stain on individuality and the fundamental idea of the internet.

Here are the features of reddit

1) Horrible layout
2) Anything people don't like gets hidden instead of actually discussed
3) People try to hard to get upboats instead of just posting whatever they are thinking - This is the same thing that happened to facebook once they let the plebs on it

In closing reddit sucks a fat dick as evident by everyone in the universe using it.

I'm Krallum and I approved this message."

reddit, like wiki, is just a framework.

however, /r/all is probably the worst thing that i look at w/ any regularity. it's not even that the content is terrible, it's that about a third of the content is reposts that are years old, another third is reposts that are days old, and the last third is reposts that are still on the fucking front page.

I check r/talesfromtechsupport r/crusaderkings and a smattering of the political and news subreddits ranging from left to right in an attempt to wade through the bias and get facts

A lot of good comes from that IMO. It also gets rid of:

1) Blatant trolling, like when it's obvious someone's saying the most racist, sexist thing possible to start an argument
2) Posts of goatse and the like
3) Spam posts

Reddit also allows you to reply directly to someone's post with formatting that makes it easy to tell who's talking to who. On TWW someone will reply to a user six posts up or more. Sometimes I have to search backwards to see who originally made the statement.

I agree that the default subreddits suck and the upvote/downvote system drowns out unpopular opinions, but there are good sources for discussion and conversation if you look hard enough.

i agree that that upvoting/downvoting mechanic is terrible, but most of if is that there are too many people now. more people = shittier content.

i still browse r/all when i'm bored, but for real content i go to subreddits that are either small enough to self-regulate, or have rules against posting garbage.

^I thought that was the whole point. Subreddits are great, the front page is just a bunch of regurgitated crap from across the web.

Also, ^^+1, there's been a lot of flaming and trolls throughout the history of this site that have done more harm to it than good.

i just totally hate the upvote/karma system. it's like you have to be a douchebag and say someone's retarded sister's graduation is awesome to get some cred up in that bitch. fuck that.

the subs have been very helpful to me when i'm looking for a very specific group of minds, i will agree with that.
