Havnt read any comic books, just going off of the recent movies and a few episodes of Agents of SHIELD.

Saw this bit http://www.wired.com/2014/05/abc-marvel-agent-carter/ and figured Id learn a bit.

First question I guess, taking from the article above, why is there a reference to 2 SHIELDS?

Well the article isn't really accurate, so prediction it makes about two SHIELDS is based on a false premise.

SHIELD isn't an offshoot of Hydra. It was a totally independent intelligence organization that hydra infiltrated over 60 years.
